Life in the Philippine Islands

This section of the site is targeted towards foreigners who are considering traveling to the Philippines for holiday or possibly permanent relocation.  What many people would consider the norms for their country simply do not apply here.  There are both positive and negative implications for this (mostly positive we believe).

Connie is a Filipina who aside from a little over 10 years in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, China has lived most of her life in the Philippines.  She understands many of the differences from the perspective of a local person living abroad for an extended period of time.

Tim is from Los Angeles and has lived in  the United States, Japan, Hong Kong, Germany and most recently China.  He also spent 5 years in Metro Manila running a technology company prior to moving back to the Philippines permanently in early 2022.

The articles in this section will be written by both Connie and Tim with an attempt to present our impressions of the country and life here from both perspectives.   We expect to start writing content here after the start of 2023.
